Zoya Fire & Ice (Flame) Collection

Hi! I know I haven't post in awhile. I was sick for the past week and I'm finally feeling better. Still coughing and voice is still rasping but other than that I'm good. So forgive me :)

So anyways, today I have Zoya's new Fire & Ice Collection, which recently the collection's name was changed to Flame collection. This collection consists of 6 gorgeous colors with a foil like finish.

All pictures were taken under artificial light.

Tiffany a soft peachy copper shimmer

Gloria is a rosey pink shimmer

Crystal is a turquoise blue with gold flecks

Lisa is a red shimmer with reddish flecks

Sarah a magenta shimmer with red and pink flecks

Valerie is a plum purple with light purple flecks

Overall this collection is stunning. I loved all six shades, but my favorite has to be Crystal. I love how the orangey/gold/copper flecks work with the turquoise. Very unique color. Formula was the typical Zoya formaul, smooth and perfect in every way. All were under two coats.

And that's all I have for today!

Chanel Riva from the Collection Côte D'azur

Happy December!

So after much heavy decision making, I've decided to get the Chanel Riva from the Collection Côte D'azur. Nevertheless, I am quite happy that I bought it. I love pale blue polishes and this one, I must say is stunning. Some people may not see any uniqueness about it, but I like it a lot.

I took a picture of it in direct sunlight and under fluorescent lights because both pictures came out with different color variations. Under fluorescent lights it looks like a vibrant baby blue creme. It's not that vibrant in person, it's a lot more pale. Very similar to the sunlight picture.

Sunlight

Artificial light

Riva is a pale blue base with very subtle turquoise flecks. It is quite sheer. I did it under four coats to reach this color.

I took my time to do apply this because I love the color and wanted it to turn out nicely. Waiting out between each coats really helped. The formula was actually pretty good. It wasn't thick like the usual Chanel polishes. I wasn't disappointed at this polish, although I was disappointed with the price. For a nail polish that costs almost $30 (after tax) is just a little ridiculous in my opinion. But that's the price I pay for being obsessed with nail polish I suppose.

So that's all I have for today!

MAC Venomous Villains Nail Lacquers

Yay! I finally have the MAC's Venomous Villains Nail Lacquers done today (2 months late). I know its all absolutely sold out now and that evil eBay is having it for prices beyond imaginable.

I spent quite a lot of money on this collection. Being that I absolutely love Disney, and of course MAC. Them collaborating is like me having a dream come true! Below is everything that I bought from the collection. I do not regret spending money on these because I love the colors and everything. My wallet wasn't happy though, but that's OK xD

Anyway, here are the swatches of the nail lacquers:

Formidable is a plum-ish base with blue and pink flecks of shimmer. Yes very similar to Orly's Galaxy Girl

Mean & Green is a brownish green base with purple and golden shimmer. And yes very similar to Orly's Space Cadet

Bad Fairy is a red shimmer with hints of gold and orangey shimmer

As you can see, Bad Fairy is the only one worth buying since Formidable and Mean & Green have dupes. What I wished they did was slap on Maleficient's picture on the polish bottle like they did with the Hello Kitty's. That would've made the polish more special and unique. They were all under three coats and application was pretty good. Had no problems.

OPI Burlesque Collection 2010

Happy Thanksgiving! Just want to say I am thankful for such a great family, my dog Bebe, my boyfriend, my friends, my readers, and of course to nail polish ;)

Today I have OPI's Burlesque collection to show you. I know you've probably seen these every where already, but I finally got around to swatching them. This collection consists of six shimmers and six glitters. I was a little iffy about getting the glitters, but I ended up getting them and I absolutely love them. They are so sparkly!!

The Shimmers

Rising Star

Tease-y Does It

Ali's Big Break

The Show Must Go On

Let Me Entertain You

Take the Stage

The Glitters

Show It and Glow It

Bring on the Bling

Extra-va-vaganza

Sparkle-icious

Glow Up Already

Simmer & Shimmer

I absolutely love this whole collection. The colors are great. The glitters are gorgeous. Job well done on this one OPI. All the shimmers were under 2 coats, and the glitters were in 3 coats for full coverage. There wasn't a single polish I didn't like.

Did anyone else enjoy the collection as much as I did?

OPI Designer Series Radiance & Magic

Today I have the two new OPI Designer Series Radiance and Magic. I honestly feel a little disappointed with these new DS polishes coming out because all the old ones were holo. And there's no holo in these :( But they're still pretty..

Radiance is a silver foil which was opaque in two coats. I actually liked this one a lot

Magic is a sapphire blue with blue and turquoise flecks. This one took 3 coats for full coverage

Radiance and Magic are both nice, but I do hope to see some more holos in the future for their Designer Series collections. Those were awesome!

Radiance is my favorite because it applied so nicely with no streaks. And we tend to have that problem with 'metallic' so I'm pretty impressed with the application.

Well that's all I have for today!

Nicole by OPI Holiday Magic Collection

I have the Nicole by OPI Holiday Magic Collection for the 2010 holiday to show you today! The collection consists of four colors, two shimmers, and two glitters.

I know that Thanksgiving Day is not even here yet, but I'm really in the holiday spirit. Christmas is my favorite holiday of all times.

Bring On the Tinsel is a clear base with silver glitter as its main glitter and green, red, blue glitters mixed with it. Very pretty and very sparkly. And I love things that sparkle :)

Spark My Mistletoe is a clear base with red glitter and octagon shaped like glitters

Stuck In The Chimney is a chutney red shimmer with a very teeny tiny slight hint of gold

Index and Ring: Bring on the Tinsel over Stuck In a Chimney
Middle and Pinky: Spark My Mistletoe over Stuck In A Chimney

Kiss Me at Midnight is a dark cherry wood red shimmer

Index and Ring: Bring on the Tinsel over Kiss me at midnight
Middle and Pinky: Spark my mistletoe over kiss me at midnight

Spark My Mistletoe really brings out the red shimmer in Kiss Me At Midnight. Gorgeous!

My favorites are Kiss Me At Midnight and Bring On the Tinsel!

The formula for these were excellent. Had no problems with them at all. The two shimmers took only two coats to be fully opaque. As for the glitters, it took 3 coats. Application applied smoothly, no streaks no fuss.

Which ones do you like? Will you be getting these?

(These were sent to me for review)

Misa What I Like About You Collection

Hi lovelies! Today I have Misa's What I Like About You Collection for the Fall 2010. The collection consists of six new colors that's perfect for the Fall.

Spinning Out of Control is a blurple shimmer. Leans more towards the purple side.

Quirky Smile is a teal shimmer

Like It Like That is a bright metallic grimmer shimmer with slight weak blue duochrome

It's You! is a deep gray with slight hints of green and pink duochrome

When U Say My Name is a deep brown shimmer

Perfect Kiss is a magenta shimmer. Sorry for yellowiness, as this picture was taken as the sun was about to set!

These were very well pigmented and was opaque in 2 coats. As for the formula, they were better than their usual polishes. Misa's polishes tends to be on the thick side, however these weren't as thick as they use to be. I didn't have much problems applying these.

Although the colors didn't really amaze me much, my favorites are It's You! and Quirky Smile. All the other ones didn't really catch my breath. And to be honest none of the colors are unique in anyway, except for maybe It's You!.

I didn't get the Spark My Interest collection because well... because it didn't really spark my interest! Haha sorry I just had to say that. Well that's all I have for today!

Chanel SoHo Story Strong and Steel

It's almost Friday!

Today I have two nail polishes from Chanel's SoHo Story collection. Being that I'm from New York, when I heard this about this collection, I was quite excited. I ended up purchasing the SoHo de Chanel highlighting and blush powder and the Quadra eye shadow palette in Stupendous; but I didn't even get to try any of them yet -_-

Cute pouches it came in

SoHo de Chanel Highlighting Powders and Blush - I like the brush it came with :D

The Quadra Eye Shadow Palette in Stupdendous

And now the swatches..

Strong is a a deep burgundy brown. On the bottle it looks more burgundy, but on the nails it looks almost black with hints of brown and burgundy shimmer. Very nice color for the Fall

Steel is a charcoal gray-black with silver micro-shimmer. Here's something very interesting; I was applying this during the night time with a very dim lamp on. As I was painting it I noticed that it was looking a little blue-ish to me. I thought my eyes were playing with me. So I decided to take a picture with flash.

(Please click to enlarge)

See those flecks of blue shimmer?! Cool.. (wait.. or is it just me?)

The formula is decent. It was a little thick, but these are highly pigmented. Seriously, one coat did the job, but I'm never comfortable with one coat, always gotta slab on another coat to smooth out any imperfections.

Though I liked both of these colors, they're not at all unique. For $23, I'm sure you can get a ton of polishes that are alike or similar at least. I *believe* these are still available on the chanel.com website and other department stores that carries Chanel.

Well that's all I have for today!

The Real Housewives of Tudor Dynasty by Rescue Beauty Lounge

Today's swatches and review is totally drool-worthy. I have for you Rescue Beauty Lounge's The Real Housewives of Tudor Dynasty!! Four gorgeous shades inspired by the Tudor dynasty

Catherine is a smokey purple with gold, bright blue, fuchsia shimmer.

Anne is a smokey gray olive green with gold and pink shimmers

Jane is a a gray pearl with slight hints of gold and pink shimmer. The shimmers are not as noticeable on your nails than on the bottle. Sorry I didn't get to take a picture of this one in sunlight

Catherine H is a Wedgewood blue hue with pink and gold flecks.

All of these look different in different lighting. Under direct sunlight the flecks and shimmers show up pretty well. But if you're indoors it looks like your typical shimmers; however if you stare at it for awhile you'll notice the gorgeous gold and pink shimmers.

These were very opaque. All were done under two coats and a top coat. I had no problems with the applications, it was very smooth. Well worth $18 (in this case $72 for 4) out of my wallet. I love spending my money on polishes that are worth it.

My favorites would have to be Catherine H and Catherine. I like Anne too but Jane didn't really put much WOW for me.

Well that is all I have for today!
