Misa What I Like About You Collection

Hi lovelies! Today I have Misa's What I Like About You Collection for the Fall 2010. The collection consists of six new colors that's perfect for the Fall.

Spinning Out of Control is a blurple shimmer. Leans more towards the purple side.

Quirky Smile is a teal shimmer

Like It Like That is a bright metallic grimmer shimmer with slight weak blue duochrome

It's You! is a deep gray with slight hints of green and pink duochrome

When U Say My Name is a deep brown shimmer

Perfect Kiss is a magenta shimmer. Sorry for yellowiness, as this picture was taken as the sun was about to set!

These were very well pigmented and was opaque in 2 coats. As for the formula, they were better than their usual polishes. Misa's polishes tends to be on the thick side, however these weren't as thick as they use to be. I didn't have much problems applying these.

Although the colors didn't really amaze me much, my favorites are It's You! and Quirky Smile. All the other ones didn't really catch my breath. And to be honest none of the colors are unique in anyway, except for maybe It's You!.

I didn't get the Spark My Interest collection because well... because it didn't really spark my interest! Haha sorry I just had to say that. Well that's all I have for today!

Misa What I Like About You Collection For Fall 2010

Hi all!

I just got this in the mail!

misa what I like about you fall 2010 collection new(click to enlarge)

This is what Misa has to say about their collection for Fall 2010:

Fall 2010: What I Like About You Collection

Quirky Smile: Something about his lilted smile lets you know he’s interested... and this shimmering Prussian blue is no less attention-grabbing. However, this rich shade invites you into deeper territory—what’s lurking beneath? In this case, you’ll discover a polish that evokes stormy skies and churning seas, a perfect metaphor for love’s mixed emotions.

Like It Like That: You can’t avoid feeling upbeat when a relationship is going just right, or when gazing at nails that are the perfect shade. Just try to block this candy apple green out of your mind; when you like it like that, why deny yourself the pleasure?

Spinning Out of Control: Sometimes you just can’t control yourself—and you wouldn’t have it any other way. Embrace that euphoric feeling with a brooding cobalt blue-violet that says, “Don’t stop this merry-go-round; I’m enjoying the ride!”

It’s You!: Searching for the perfect mate is like searching for the perfect nail polish shade: When you find it, you know right away. Like a perfect-match partner, this multilayered iridescent hue offers the best of both worlds: a smoldering forest green shot through with copper ribbons that glimmer and twinkle perfectly in candlelight.

Perfect Kiss: Don’t blush! When you recognize a good moment, grab what’s yours: the perfect kiss. A well-planted smooch can provide material for days of daydreaming, and this vibrant fuchsia is equally fantasy-inspiring. An eye-catching color like this one will have any man’s lips quivering uncontrollably.

When U Say My Name: Chances are, your man has plenty to say, but nothing is sweeter than when he whispers your name while in a sweet embrace. Blissfully sink into the moment while donning this sultry rust, and don’t be afraid to demand, “Say it again!”

These will be available to ship from July 19th 2010. That's only two days from now!

I will add more info when I receive it :)

Comparison Wednesday

Hi all!

I've had a couple of requests for comparisons and I found some polishes in my stash that were a lot alike, so Comparison Wednesday it is! I apologize for the variety in backgrounds, but some colors wouldn't be accurate on a white background and some didn't like the black background. I did the best I could with it since lighting wasn't really coorperating either..

Anyway, I have no less than four comparisons for you today! Here's a little overview.

comparison rbl no more war nmw pieces it's a camouflage creme essie mink muffs taupe orly prince charming nailswatches shimmer nfu oh 117 color club electronica purple htf hard to find opi dating a royal medium blue jelly creme essie mesmerize dirty sexy money dsm misa slate green catrice i sea you dupes comp dupe swatch nailwheel nailswatchesSome colors are way darker irl, but again, that's due to the background..

misa dirty sexy money dsm catrice i sea you slate green comparison creme hard to find htf nailswatchesLeft Misa Dirty Sexy Money, right Catrice I Sea You! The colors are a little too dark, but you can see that they're pretty much identical. Dirty Sexy Money is a tad bit more blue, but I don't think you could tell these apart when I wore them together as a mani.

color club electronica nfu oh 117 purple shimmer dupe comparison nailswatchesLeft Color Club Electronica, right Nfu Oh 117. Both are deep purples with red and blue shimmer particles, but Electronica is a bit darker so I'd say these are no dupes of eachother. They are siblings though, so if you own one of these two, you probably won't need the other.

essie mesmerize opi dating a royal dar blue jelly nailswatches comparison dupe dupesLeft OPI Dating A Royal and Essie Mesmerize on the right. I would call both of them medium blues, but they are no dupes. I've read somewhere that these are deadon dupes, but they're obviously not. Dating A Royal is more intense, colorwise, than Mesmerize. The latter is a bit brighter. No, these are not dupes. If you're not really into blues, you probably won't need both though.

essie mink muffs orly prince charming taupe comparison dupe dupes nailswatches brown cremes cremeThis one is not as faded and light as my picture let's it appear, but I couldn't get a proper shot. I will try again later this week and add a better picture when I managed to take a more accurate picture.. Anyway, left is Orly Prince Charming and right is Essie Mink Muffs. Both are taup-ey cremes, but Mink Muffs is more pigmented and is warmer than Prince Charming. Mink Muffs and Prince Charming are not dupes of eachother.

rbl rescue beauty lounge no more war nmw army green pieces it's a camouflage dupe dupes comparison nailswatchesLeft RBL No More War, right Pieces It's a Camouflage. They are both in the army green category, but that's all they have alike. No More War is way darker and greener than It's a Camouflage so no dupes here either.

I hope this was helpful :) Again, if you have suggestions for a comparison, please let me know and I'll see if I can do one for you!

Thanks for stopping by!

[Weartest] Misa Cherry Glazed

Hi all!

So today I have the polish for you that has been on my nails for 7 days till now, and I haven't taken it off. Yes, you read this right! Seven days! That's a lot, especially for me since I usually change my polish every day or every other day. I took pics on day two (on day one I didn't have proper lighting) and on day seven. It's also a first for me to post my thumb up close and personal on my blog! :D

misa cherry glazed nail polish swatch weartestMisa Cherry Glazed, two coats with one coat of Nubar Diamont in daylight. Cherry Glazed is a rich red creme with hints of berry. It's slightly darker irl and you can't really see the hint of berry I'm talking about in my picture, but my camera wouldn't pick it up.. It's a red with an edge in my opinion and surprisingly, I love this! Application was flawless, but drying time took a little longer than I'm used to. I'm guessing that's because of the heat though, so I can't really judge this.

This picture was taken on day two of wear and looks indeed like a fresh mani.

And now, the picture that I took today, on the end of day seven.

misa cherry glaze nail polish swatch weartestMisa Cherry Glazed, two coats with one coat of Nubar Diamont in daylight on day seven. It looks almost identical to the picture that I took on day two, since I only have a few scratches on my polish. You can see that my nails have grown a bit since my gap is quite big, but other than that.. No chips, no tipwear.. And I use my laptop (and keyboard) a lot. I'm impressed!

I used OPI Nail Envy Matte as my basecoat and only two coats of Cherry Glazed. I believe this one could have done with one though, since it is so pigmented! But really, I'm impressed. I think I've found the polish I should wear when I go on vacation :)

What do you think of Misa Cherry Glazed? Do you own polish yourself that lasts 7 days and does not chip - excluding Shellac of course!

Misa Heaven White

White polish should be a part of every nail polish collection :) and especially now because it looks great with summer skin. I have some whites but this one is the best. Applies very flawless and needs only two coats. I am always curious what about you, so tell me...what is your favourite white polish?

Misa Um You're Too Delicious

Hi all!

Since it's the World Cup and all, I'm trying out my orange polishes to see if there is one suitable for a manicure when The Nederlands will be playing. This time: Misa Um You're Too Delicious, which was part of my swap with Linda :)

Um You're Too Delicious orange neonUm You're Too Delicious Orange neonMisa Um You're Too Delicious, three coats in daylight. Um You're Too Delicious is a jellylike orange neon. I didn't even know it was possible, but it certainly looks that way! Normally neons dry matte or satin, but this one dries absolutely shiny with a jellylike finish. I like it! Please believe me when I say that this polish is WAY brighter irl.

Application was fine, but drying time was not. It took forever to dry and when I tried to stamp it, over an hour later, it still wasn't dry and I ended up taking it off because the stamping ruined my mani. Also, I suspect that this is the only Misa I own that is not B3F and that this causes the polish to smell really bad (I will check the ingredients later today to be sure). I will try her once more this week or next week, to see if it works better :)

So now I wonder: what's your favorite orange polish?

Misa Nailart Collection

Hi all!

I just received this in the mail! I have no clue if there are already posts about this, but since I couldn't find any blog that posted about the Misa Nailart collection I thought I'd post it anyway! I didn't even know Misa had a complete line of nailart (stripers), so there's a whole new world for me lol.

Misa Nailart - please click to enlarge! There are some great glitter/shimmer colors in there as you can see. In the bottom right corner you can see the two newest additions to the collection - Mud Slide and Celebration.

I haven't tried any of these stripers, so I don't know anything about the quality of these. Maybe I should try some in the future :) They look like a whole lot of great colors for nailart fanatics! I don't have a steady hand unfortunately, so these may be not for me.

If I'm correct, these are already available!

Misa Wishing On A Star

Hi all!

Happy monday! The weather has been a bit rainy around here, so I thought it was time for a darker polish to show you: Misa Wishing on a Star.

Misa Wishing on a StarMisa Wishing on a StarMisa Wishing on a Star, three coats in indirect daylight. Wishing on a Star has a black base, filled with tons of silver microglitter. I'd almost say this is glassflecked, but not just yet.. The microglitter flashes green and blue before my eyes, but I wasn't able to capture that with my camera. Since this contains a ton of microglitter, let's take a closer look, shall we?

Misa Wishing on a Star*insert ooh and aah here* Doesn't that look great? I can't help myself staring at these kind of shades when they're on my nails. It's just so sparkly!

Application was good, a bit watery at first but all evens out in two to three coats. Drying time was alright - not too quick. I managed to smudge the polish on one of my nails, so I had to redo my nails to be able to take some pictures of it.

Misa Chocolate Icing

Hi all!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Today I have a vampy for you that I got in a swap package from the lovely Linda from Latvia (thanks dear!): Misa Chocolate Icing. Somehow, I'm really into vampies lately. I actually caught myself doing my nails only with vampies last time I was swatching.. But they're so pretty! Anyway, I'm getting carried away.. On to some pics!

Misa Chocolate IcingMisa Chocolate IcingMisa Chocolate IcingMisa Chocolate Icing, three coats in daylight and indirect daylight (last pic). Chocolate Icing is a cherry wood colored polish; brown shimmer that leans very strong towards red in some lights, as you can see in my pics. I actually thought Chocolate Icing would be way more red from all the swatches I have seen, but it doesn't even show red in the bottle.. When there's no direct light hitting the nail, the color in the last pic is most color accurate.

Application was good, as was the drying time. I didn't have any problem with Chocolate Icing and I truly love this shade. I actually think this would make an excellent pedi color as well!

Thanks Linda for sending me all these pretties! ♥

A Recent NOTD

Hi all!

A quickie today! I just have a recent NOTD to share with you..

W.I.C by Herome Lisbon, three coats in daylight. This polish was a gift from Karin and Michèle at our playdate.. Thanks dears! ♥ Lisbon is a medium purple with hints of pink shimmer. I think it's a gorgeous shade. I don't own any polish like this, so it's unique in my stash!

Application was a bit tricky since the polish was a bit thick, but nothing unmanagable - and nothing that thinner can't fix. Drying time was good and the wear of this one was great. I wore this for five days before taking it off, with only minor tipwear and one teenie chip.

That's all for today, I wish you all a wonderful and sunny weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

PS: The bottle I'm holding is Misa Ummm You're Too Delicious ;)

Misa That´s My Little Secret

I don´t have many Misa polishes and when I get to try some, I am not a big fan. This is a nice berry creme. What I really like is that I used just one coat. The prolem is, that the formula was thick and didn´t apply very well.
I also wanted to remind you all, that tomorrow is the end of my giveaway! I think I will spend the whole weekend counting :)

Comparison: Models Own Slate Green vs. Misa Dirty Sexy Money

Hi all!

I got home a little late yesterday, so I couldn't upload my post anymore.. So I'll show you today what I wanted to post. I have a comparison between Models Own Slate Green and Misa Dirty Sexy Money for you today. Misa DSM is not that easy to find, so it would be nice to have a dupe handy. I decided to do a comparison with Dirty Sexy Money as soon as I got it in, which was this week.

Naast elkaar.

Side by side. In the bottles they look quite close.

And in a bigger picture

I hope you can see this, I really tried my best to get the colors right in the pictures and that wasn't easy. These colors are hard to photograph.. On my index and ring I'm wearing Misa Dirty Sexy Money, two coats, and on my middle and pinky I'm wearing two coats of Models Own Slate Green. As you can see, hopefully, these are not dupes. Dirty Sexy Money is darker and more blue in color, while Slate green is lighter and cooler. They're both dusty so I like them both a lot, although DSM is a little bit warmer. Again, these are not dupes. The application on Misa Dirty Sexy Money was way better than the application of Models Own Slate Green, but then again, I already have this Models Own polish for a couple of weeks, so maybe this polish just needs a little Restore.

The difference is clearly visible in this picture I think. On my middle finger I wear Models Own, on the other two nails I'm wearing Misa.

I hope this helps, with either killing a lemming or creating one ;)

Thanks for stopping by!
