Sally Hansen continuous treatment growth formula

Hey guys! Okay so I went to my orientation class and it was, let's say...intimate and interactive. There were only 4 of us and the teacher. But there may be 1 more joining us...woo. Haha, but I'm really glad cuz it means that we get more individualized attention from the teacher. I rememeber that being a bad thing in high school, but I'm serious about this so I think I can handle it.



We learned some basics about tools and about bacteria. My face must've just been blank the whole time we were talking about bacteria! lol. I was so bad at biology. My bio teacher hated me so much...she literaly threw a huge hardcover text book at me. I realize now that that was probably something she shouldn't have done (should have sued her ass!)



Anywho, in my last post I mentioned the Sally Hansen Continuous Treatment Growth Formula. Okay, so I've been trying it and I think it might be working. I applied it on the 20th of this month and actually had enough nail growth by the 28th to cut off a bit. My nails are complete stumps and it seems like they stayed that way for a while, but this stuff seems to be working so far.

I usually use OPI's Nail Envy. I think that Nail Envy is great, too, but they seem to work a little differently from what I can see so far. With Nail Envy you have to apply 2 coats on your natural nail and then another coat every other day for a week. Then you start all over again. I think with nail envy, you get the strength from all the coats, so if you have weak nails this will help your nails grow out. Probably better if you're trying to grow your nails long, in my opinion.

With the Sally Hansen one, you only apply 1-2 coats on your natural nail and then reapply as needed. So you don't get the strength with this one, but it's supposed to have a time-release formula to continuously give nourishment to your nails. So I think this one is good for the lazy person who doesn't have time to apply nail envy every other day. And I think if you're trying to grow out damaged or weak nails, then this might be better for you. I'm doing that right now and I've just been chopping off my nails as they grow and I'll keep chopping them off until I get rid of the thin nails from using artificials and get to the healthy nail.

Trying to grow out my natural nails...

Hey guys, hope everyone's doing well! So my first nail tech class is on the 29th and I'm desparately trying to grow out my nails! I've had fakies on for while now and they're thin and weak now that I've removed them, so I'm trying to get them to grow out so they'll be healthy again.

So my question to you guys is what do you do to grow out your natural nails? Do you guys have any tips or tricks?

What I normally do is use my trusty OPI Nail Envy to grow them out. I find that this stuff helps them grow and grow healthy...but it's just not growing fast enough. I think I have high expectations...you think? Trying to grow my nails out in 2 weeks. HA!!

I also keep my cuticles well moisturized with nail oil and tap my fingers against hard surfaces whenever I can to stimulate nail growth. I don't know if it's an old wives' tale or not, but it's worth a try!

Let me know if you guys can think of anything to help my stumpy plight!

Hey guys, I got some blog love yesterday from 2 special ladies. I must've been a good girl lately...

Now onto one of my favourite products. It has been for a long time now. It's CND's Solar Oil. Here's lame pic of a mini bottle I had laying around. Couldn't find my big bottle for the life of me...

Yah, see. Lame. You can see the writing cuz it's see-thru. But here's the website if you want to see a pic. It is great for natural nails and cuticles, but it's also good for nail enhancements. It keeps your fakies flexible, but still tough. This is the whole reason I started using this oil in the first place. I have always had horribly dry cuticles and I thought I couldn't use nail oil because it would cause lifting on the nail enhancements, but as long as the nails are properly applied you don't get lifting.

I only know of one nail supply store where I live that sells it, but to be fair, I haven't really been searching too hard to find it since this place sells it for cheaper than I've ever paid for it in the past. I remember I couldn't find it for years...then one nail tech I started going to started selling it. And I was so excited I bought 3. Then she couldn't find it anymore and died a little inside. Now I've got a place that sells it on the cheap so I'm happy again.

If you're interested in it, you can check out the CND website to locate a store that might sell it near you. I highly recommend it. Sometimes I get so caught up in the prettiness of my nails that I forget to take care of them...so I always have a little bottle near me at all times.

Okay and another nail design. Sorry I don't do them on my actual nails. I have acrylics on right now and there's no way to do a new set everyday...time consuming and so bad for the nails to have to file them down all the time.

This one is similar in colour to the lv one I did a few days ago. There's something about pink and gold that I really like.

I will do a tutorial for you guys soon. I promise, these ones are all ones that I did a few days ago and I'm posting them one by one for you guys until I can find the time to do a tut.

All I did for these was used a transluscent gold sparkle nail polish on the tips (I didn't make a straight line on purpose) and then went over it with a clear nail polish I had that had thicker gold chunks in it. I got those 2 polishes from daiso ($2 japanese store near where I live). Then I just added in some deco. The gold circles are jump rings that you can get at an arts and craft store...although I just picked mine up from a dollar store. They're used for jewelry making and they come in different sizes. I think I got like 100 jump rings for a buck. The pearls and rhinestones are from Michaels and they came like a sticker with a sticky backing, which I just removed and used nail glue to glue onto the nail. Then I used a UV top coat to seal it all in.
