Givenchy Pschitt Lemon

My first experience with a Givenchy polish. This is a great summer shade for those of you who don´t mind sheer polishes. On the pictures are four coats and there is still VNL. I am not very happy about this polish, nothing for me. Considering the price (17 dollars for 5,5ml!) I think it is not wort it.

China Glaze Vintage Vixen Collection 2010 - Swatches and Review

Today I have for you one of the most exciting collections for this fall - the China Glaze Vintage Vixen Collection! Every year it is the same with me. I can´t wait for their fall collections because they always come with such pretty shades. Remember the Rodeo Diva Collection from 2008? Well that is my favourite nail polish collection ever :) So lets have a look at the newest one.

The collection is inspired by the 40s. The official description says: "For Fall 2010, the China Glaze Vintage Vixen Collection captures the vivid and saturated hues of the 1940’s with this seductively complex palette. These classic shades of the season recreate the timeless tableau of movie land mystique, perfect red pouts and steamy nights where swing was the scene!"

What a great era to be inspired with! Again, this collections has a total of twelve shades that come in two sets. Of course the polishes can be bought separately. Here they are:

The swatches are all without a base or top coat and are in natural daylight (no sun or lightbox).

JITTERBUG

A beautiful black/grey foil metallic. It shines so much, looks like a shiny stone. One of my favourites. Two coats.

BOGIE

It is always hard to say which shade from a collection is the best for me but I think it is this one. Love at first sight. Not only is the shade really beautiful but the application was flawless and it is very richly pigmented. One coat could have been just fine, I did two. Get this one!

HEY DOLL

The name and the shade make this polish so girly. It is soft and elegant but still not boring for me. Great color for fall. Two coats again here.

FOXY

This is such a beautiful fall shade. Reminds me of the falling leaves. Red with golden shimmer. Two coats.

INGRID

Another contribution to the taupe trend and a very pretty one! It has very soft golden shimmer. Two coats.

SWING BABY

The second foil of the collection. This time it is a champagne. The only polish from the whole collection I used three coats.

GOIN' MY WAY?

Warm metallic bronze. Very pretty and very well pigmented. Can´t wait to do a full mani with this one when fall comes. Two coats.

RIVETER ROUGE

Bright red with silver micro glitter. As with all the swatches this is without a top coat which you might want to use to sooth down the rough surface. Two coats.

CLASSIC CAMEL

The name says it all. First thing that comes to my mind when i look at this polish is a camel. I think this is the most unique color of the whole collection. I really like the golden flecks it has. This color will not suit all skin tones though. Two coats.

EMERALD FITZGERALD

One of my favourites. A beautiful green that leans to the blue side. What else could I want? Just look at the depth of the polish. Two coats.

MIDNIGHT MISSION

Like a starry sky. Beautiful glossy blue with silver glitter. The glitter is very soft and easy to remove. So so pretty!! Two coats.

FIRST CLASS TICKET

What fall collection would it be without a purple! And what a beautiful one. Dark but not too much. A bit more to the blue side but it still is purple. I saw some pictures of it looking almost blue but it isn´t. Love the depth of this one.

Well this is it. All twelve of the polishes from the Vintage Vixen Collection which should launch in July 2010. I really like the choice of colors and the formula on most of these. They were all but one two coaters and I didn´t have any major application problems. It will sound crazy but I can´t wait for fall to come! :)

Barielle Passion Pirouette with Illamasqua Spartan

And just a quick post with what is currently on my nails :) Two coats of Passion Pirouette and one coat of Spartan which is a top coat with fine gold glitter. Looks great on the purple!

Two reader requests

Todays post is two reader requests I got lately. If you want something specific too, just let me know :) I am always happy to help my readers.

First, jaljen wanted to see Orly Luxe with some black stamping. Recently I bought the Bundle monster image plates set, so this was a great opportunity to try them out :) This is from plate MB12. I have to say, that these image plates are great. Very easy to work with, nice designs and cheap. Love them.

Next, alluring_mum wanted me to make a comparison of Maybelline Mirror Image polish with China Glaze Millenium. In the bottle these two look very simmilar, but on the nail the difference is evident. The Mirror Image really looks more like a mirror, but is hadrer to work with and doesn´t last long. If you want a really shiny silver that last, I would go for the China Glaze.

BB Couture Blind Love

When I won Mary´s contest I could choose three BB Couture polishes. Now do I have to tell you how hard that was?! I have never tried this brand before but from what I heard I was so excited, they have some really lovely shades.One of them is definitely Blind Love, a greenish silver foil metallic and it is said to be close to Chanel Kaleidoscope. It is such a cool color, I loved my nails in it! This one needs two coats, I did three just to make sure. No streaking, just awesomeness!

One more thing I have to say about BB Couture. You not only get beautiful colors and quality, but if you order from Overall Beauty also great costumer care. Kim, the owner, just rocks! She has been very helpful and I think I need to get some more BB Couture polishes :D

Orly Luxe (Foil FX Collection 2010)

Hi! Hope you are all great. It is pouring rain in my country, no sun. Today I want to show you one of the polishes from the FX collection. I have been wearing these polishes from this collection quiet a while now, I just forgot to post the pictures. I am sure you have seen enough swatches of them, still I want to show mine. This polish is so cool! Luxe is a golden foil metallic and looks great alone or with black stamping. It covers nicely in two coats, application was flawless and the drying time was very good too. Very happy with this polish :)

OPI Bling Dynasty (Hong Kong Collection 2010)

This polish was fun. When I put it on and took pictures of it in the shade, I was not very exctited about it, but when I took it out to see the sun, it revealed its full beauty. Like if I found some kind of a treasure :) It actually looks like antique gold, really very pretty.

Tenhle lak byl zvláštní. Když jsem ho nalakovala a začala fotit uvnitř, byla to docela nuda, ale když jsem ho vzala ven na sluníčko, bylo to jako vykopat poklad :) Vlastně trošku jako poklad vypadá, jako staré zlato. Opravdu moc pěkný kousek.

Chanel inspired...

I really like the look that Chanel came up with in their new collection NOIR ET OR Paris-Shanghai. Golden nails with black tips, wow just gorgeous for summer. Having my finances and skills limited, I tried to do my own version of this mani. I used China Glaze 2030 (one coat) and Konad plate M 45 :) Hope you like it and have a great weekend!

Moc se mi líbí look nové Chanel kolekce NOIR ET OR Paris-Shanghai. Zlaté nehty s černými špičkami, na léto dokonalé. Vzhledem k mým omezeným finančním možnostem a (ne)šikovnosti jsem si udělala svoji vlastní verzi. Použila jsem China Glaze 2030 a Konad destičku M 45. Snad se líbí a užijte si všichni víkend!

Eyeko Polishes - Swatches and Review

Eyeko released a new line of polishes and I have three of them for you today. They are all pastels and I love pastels. They improved the bottle shape, I really like it. Each bottle contains 8.5ml of color. The brush is long and I had no problems with it. So let´s have a look at the colors.

Eyeko má šest nových odstínů a tři z nich vám dnes ukážu. Všechno to jsou pastelové barvičky, které se mi líbí. Od minulé kolekce se změnila i lahvička a já myslím, že k lepšímu. Obsah je 8.5ml. Štěteček je docela dlouhý, ale pracovalo se s ním dobře. Tak jdeme omrknout barvičky.

NUDE POLISH

This one was the problem child, it was streaky and even after three coats I have VNL. But if you want the look of nice natural nails, one coat looks nice. It has subtle shimmer. Although it was hard to apply I really like the color, it would make a nice polish for work.

S tímhle jsem měla docela problémy, byl řídký a nerovnoměrně se nanášel. Na fotkách mám tři vrstvy a pořád plně nekryje. Pokud ale chcete vzhled přírodních zdravých nehtů, tak jedna vrstva vypadá moc hezky. Přestože s ním byly takové problémy, tak se mi na mě líbí. Perfektní lak do práce.

VINTAGE POLISH

Three coats and applied much better. I really like the color, but it reminds me a lot of Orly Gumdrop, so I made a little comparison for you.

Tři vrstvy, nanášel se mnohem líp, než ten předchozí. Hodně mi připomíná Orly Gumdrop, tak jsem pro vás udělala malé srovnání.

LILAC POLISH

My favourite of the three. I love this color! A beautiful lilac cream. I don´t have anything like it, although I made a comparison for you with Orly Lollipop and China Glaze Light As Air. Again three coats.

Můj favorit z těchto tří. Tu barvu zbožňuju! Krásná krémová levandulová. Žádný podobný lak nemám, přesto jsem ho srovnala s Orly Lollipop a China Glaze Light As Air. Opět tři vrstvy.
